Oak Hill opened the young high school golf season this week, finishing fourth in a 14-team field at the 18-hole Simpson Academy Icebreaker Invitational at Deerfield Golf Club in Canton.

And the solid finish came without the team's two seniors, Chapman Suggs and Connor Williams, who were taking exams.

Instead Coach V.J. Trolio rolled out a squad filled with young faces that held their own.

Freshman Cohen Trolio fired a 76, Eighth-grader Wells Williams, carded a 77, seventh-grader Collins Trolio shot a 79, junior Carter Armstrong shot an 84, Freshman Nick Flannagan finished with an 87 and seventh-grader Jack Easterling carded a 93.

The team is preparing for the two-day Oak Hill/Heritage Invitational at the Mossy Oak and Old Waverly courses March 19-20.  Some of the best high school golf teams in the state ill compete.
