West Point wins road outing

The West Point Green Wave got another good night from Brandon Harris and went on to get a 27-14 road victory on Friday night.

After Harris scored a touchdown to put the Green Wave on top, Lake Cormorant tied the game on a 23-yard run with 5:53 remaining in the second quarter.

West Point scored the only touchdown of the third quarter and took a 13-7 lead with 4:17 left on a 7-yard run by Dantariyus Cannon.

In the fourth quarter for the Green Wave, Cannon found the end zone again on a pass from Harris at the 8:07 mark, then Lake Cormorant cut the margin to 19-14 with 7:49 remaining in the game on an 80-yard kick off return.

Harris put the finishing touches on the West Point victory with a 4-yard touchdown with 4:34 left in the game and a successful two-point conversion capped the scoring for the night.

The Green Wave have now won six games in a row and improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in Class 5A, Region 1. They host Grenada next week.
