West Point man found guilty of armed robbery

Javon Brown was found guilty of three counts of armed robbery Wednesday during the Clay County Circuit Court session and sentenced to life in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Brown, 25, of West Point, was on the docket for three counts of armed robbery, two counts of burglary of a dwelling and one count of possession of stolen property. According to court documents, Brown allegedly robbed three citizens at gun-point, and stole about $2,000 worth of items, including cash, a necklace, two saddles and a pair of spurs. He received a life sentence for all three counts of armed robbery.
