West Point handles Noxubee County

It was the Brandon Harris show for the West Point Green Wave on Friday night.

Harris rushed for four touchdowns and passed for another as the Green Wave defeated the Noxubee County Tigers on the road 52-7.

After Harris got the scoring started with a 3-yard run with 11:23 remaining in the first quarter, he added another touchdown from the same distance at the 11:51 mark of the second quarter.

Harris found the end zone once again in the first half as this time he ran from 9 yards out as West Point stretched its lead to 21-0 with 1:26 left in the second quarter.

The Tigers scored their only points of the game with 1:14 remaining in the second quarter on a 38-yard pass, but the Green Wave got a 40-yard field goal by Alex Walker to close the first-half scoring and went up 24-7 at the break.

Harris was back at it in the second half as he scored on a 22-yard run with 7:20 left in the third quarter, then after West Point recovered a fumbled kickoff, Harris tossed a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Rupert with 5:46 showing on the clock in the third.

In the fourth quarter, Jimothy Mays scored on a 9-yard run and Jakobe Pate had a 15-yard touchdown run for the Green Wave.

Xavier Moody also had an interception in the second half for West Point.

The Green Wave (4-1) will travel again next week when they take on Lafayette County.
