After the holiday season, what could be better than a night of fun, food, live music and dancing, without having to leave West Point?

The West Point Junior Auxiliary is offering all that and more at its Seventh Annual Charity Gala.

The doors open at The Civic at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. With the theme, "the Roaring 20s" attendees are encouraged to dress in the Great Gatsby style of the 1920s.

Dinner will be catered by Anthonys and Magnolias at the Ritz. Tickets for the event are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The band Style will be providing the music.

There will be a live ad presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and a cash bar. All proceeds benefit Junior Auxiliary of West Point.

"The Charity Gala is our main fundraiser for the West Point Junior Auxiliary," JoAnna Jameson, PR Chair for the WPJA, said. "This money allows us to fulfill our special projects for the community, schools, families, children's literacy, Sally Kate Winters, Hospital Helpers, and backpacks for students without access to food at home."

Jameson said within these categories the JAs are able to help the community with a wide range of projects and initiatives.

"In total these projects reached 4,574 people in need within the community," Jameson said. "But we can not do this without the support of the community with fundraisers, such as the Charity Gala."

According to Jameson, Junior Auxiliary is an organization that is rewarding to those involved. It allows members to be able to give back to the community as well as meet and connect with people along the way. In total JA members put in 820 hours of service last year and we are striving for even more this year.

"We are so excited about our roaring 20's themed Gala this year." Jameson said. "We are encouraging our guests to dress in time period attire and help us kick off this new 2020 decade with a fun event that will give back to our community. It will be feature a live ad presentation and a wonderful dinner. This will be followed by a lively night of music and dancing provided by the band Style. There will also have a silent auction and cash bar."

The Junior Auxiliary finance chair Abbey Dichiara has done an excellent job of coordinating this event, Jameson said.

"We are also so grateful for the businesses who contributed items for our auction," Jameson said. "Fleur De Lis for donating flowers and arrangements, Anthony's Magnolia's at the Ritz and Sunflower for donating food, Jubilations for donating cheesecake bites, Clark Beverage and Mitchel Distributing for donating beverages and beer, and Williams Corner Package Store  and 1250 Package Store for providing wine."

In the past, the Charity Gala has sold up to 400 tickets  All in all it will be a great night for a great cause and we hope that the community comes out and participates.
