Raiders' Monteleone, Bryan, relay team advance to state

Two Oak Hill Academy track team members advanced to the state championships in additional events and a relay team also moved on based on their performances Saturday in the North State at Lee Academy in Clarksdale.

In the 1600 meters, Bella Monteleone finished second in a time of 6:24.64, just behind winner Breann Bell of Central Holmes Christian. Monteleone already has advanced in the 3200 meters.

In the 400 meters, Rivers Bryan took fourth in a time of 1:10.03 to advance. Bryan also has advanced in the high jump.

The 4-by-400-meter relay team of Sara Nash, Lilly Grace Black, Mary Beth Briggs Briggs and Rivers Bryan advanced, finishing third in a time of 4:57.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Dovie Suggs just missed advancing, finishing fifth in a time of 56.41.

The 4-by-100-meter relay team of Nash, Suggs, Black and Briggs finished eighth in a time of 57.35.

The state championships are Saturday at Jackson Prep.
