Police investigating armed robbery at Dollar General on Highway 50

The West Point Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday night at a Dollar General on Highway 50, west of downtown.

The WPPD says the incident occurred at or around 9:50 p.m., with the suspects entering from the east end of the building.

Still photos provided by investigators show one suspect, believed to be male, wearing a camouflage coat and black pants, who then pointed a rifle at the cashier and demanded money.

The other suspect was reportedly wearing a camouflage coat and red pants. That suspect also allegedly forced another store employee to the front of the store.

According to Clay County Jail records, no arrests had been made by press time Monday.
