Oak Hill loses to Carroll Academy on road

It was the type of physical game that Oak Hill head football coach Chris Craven expected on the road at Carroll Academy on Friday night.

As the game went on, Carroll Academy's style began to wear on Oak Hill and the Raiders ended up losing a 50-13 decision.

"I feel like we matched their physicality in the first half but had several injuries in the second half and the game got further away from us," Craven said.

Oak Hill sophomore quarterback Cameron Dill kept his team in the game with a pair of touchdown passes. He had a 30-yard completion for points to Branden Stevenson and added an 8-yard pass to Manning Huffman later for a score.

As players got hurt and had to leave the game for the Raiders, others had to step up into roles and Craven was pleased with how the reserves responded.

"Our guys played hard," Craven said. "I'm also proud of the 'next man up' mentality that our team has."

Oak Hill (2-7) will host Central Holmes Academy next Friday.
