Oak Hill Academy loses at Winston Academy

DTL Staff Report

There was much for Oak Hill Academy coach Chris Craven to be proud about even though his Raiders came up short on the road at Winston Academy.

Quarterback Cameron Dill threw for a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another, but it was not enough as Oak Hill lost 34-20 on Friday night.

"We played hard and gave great team effort against an upper classification Winston Academy team," Craven said. "We haven't been pulling out the wins like we want, but we have been getting better each week and there are still things we are working on."

Dill threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Manning Huffman, then the pair connected again on a 47-yard score and Dill added an 8-yard run for points.

Defensively, Jaden Craven had 23 tackles for the Raiders.

Even though the play has improved, coach Craven is not satisfied.

"We are going to work at being a better ball club one day at a time, one week at a time and one game at a time," coach Craven said. "We are treating each as the most important game we'll ever play. I'm really proud of the toughness, effort and better execution on both sides of the ball."
