Senior Drew Riley from Oak Hill Academy was rewarded for his hard-work on the hardwood, as he was voted District MVP, and was selected to play in the MAIS 1A/2A All Star Game at Madison-Ridgeland Academy on Saturday.
“I feel honored to play in the All-Star game,” said Riley. “I love basketball, but I never thought I would be selected to an all-star game.”
Riley said that when you work hard and put the team first, individual awards will come.
“I worked hard at practice everyday and did whatever it took to win,” he said.
The senior said he felt most honored to be voted District MVP, due to the fact that he did not see himself as having the physical makeup of a typical MVP recipient.
