Man charged with armed robbery after tying up woman

A West Point man is in jail facing a felony charge of armed robbery after police say he broke into a woman’s home last week

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said on Oct. 30, an armed robbery occurred at a residence on Highway 45 North Alt.

The victim told deputies the suspect, 30-year-old Jeffery Walker, broke in her home armed with a knife, tied her up and took an undisclosed amount of money and a cellphone.

Walker charged and booked into the Clay County Detention Center on Thursday afternoon.

His bond is set at $100,000.

Walker was still in jail by press time on Saturday.
