Rainwater from the half mile ditch between Old Tibbee Road and Church Hill Road has been a problem with the rain water going to the Waste Water Treatment Facility. This water is not supposed to be funneled into the facility and cleaning out the ditch will remedy the issue.
"Potentially Clay County is the sole source of asking assistance from the Tombigbee River Water Management District," Chief Administrative Officer Randy Jones, said. "For the cleaning of ditches and springs that can improve the control of flooding and erosion. In this case, we need a ditch cleaned so we can discharge the flow of rainwater so it will not go into the waste water facility for treatment."
