The Hebron Christian Eagles season comes to an end as they take a tough loss against the Kemper Academy Rams on Friday night.

Injuries plagued the Eagles in this game as the junior quarterback Braeden Triplett, and the junior tight end/defensive end Jon Garrett Lowe suffered early injuries that took them out of the game.

Hebron coach David Foster said it was a factor in the loss.

“Despite how well we played this game, we had too many injuries that left us shorthanded,” Foster said. “The few injuries this game really wrecked us, and I had to change up my positioning for some players.”

The Eagles scored their first and only points in the first quarter on a 4-yard run by Elijah Parrish and a two-point conversion by Kobee Cooper. The Rams were able to score on second and 10 with a 48-yard run by Dylan Dawson and tied the game at them end of the first with the two-point conversion by Garron Dickson.

Hebron’s offense struggled in the second half as Triplett went down with a thumb injury. Linebacker Parrish had to finish the quarter as signal caller for the Eagles and they couldn’t get anything going. Matthew Cordar for the Rams was able to score on a 1-yard run, making the score before the half 14-8 after the failed two-point conversion.

At the start of the third, the Rams scored on a 56-yard run by Dickson. Dash Turman took over the position of quarterback for the Eagles, but their offensive struggles continued. After the change in possession, the Rams were able to score once again on a 22-yard run by Dawson making the score 28-8. Later, Jon Garrett Lowe for the Eagles took a big hit and had to be helped off the field.

The Rams put the game even more out of reach with a 1-yard touchdown run by Cordar and were able to recover their onside kick. They ended the game with a 23-yard run by Dawson, which made the final score.
