Mike Hainsey, Executive Director of the Golden Triangle Regional Airport was the guest speaker at the West Point Rotary Club Thursday. He spoke about the airport’s ongoing efforts to add another airline to GTR. He said there is a 2 million dollar incentive for another airline to come to the area.

The current pilot shortage is the major reason American Airlines has not added GTR according to Hainsey. He also said that all flights in and out of GTR are 85-90 percent full.

"Eighty percent of our flights are business travel, with 15 percent being international. The national average is only six percent. We have so much international travel because of the nature of the industries in the Golden Triangle," Hainsey.

He said they are currently recruiting more high tech aerospace industries to locate in the Golden Triangle.
