Chris Craven will not be returning as head football coach at Oak Hill Academy next season.

Craven and Oak Hill Headmaster Cathy Davis both confirmed the news when contacted Monday night.

“Coach Craven will be leaving at the end of the school year and not be returning for the 2020-2021 school year,” Davis said in a statement via a text message. “We wish him well in his future endeavor.”

The Raiders finished this past season with a 2-8 record with the only wins being against Newton County 33-14 and Rossville (Tennessee) Christian 35-7. Oak Hill lost the last three games of the season and did not make the playoffs.

Craven has been with the Raiders for the last 14 seasons, including the last five as head coach.

He looks back on his time at Oak Hill with fondness.

“I will always love and cherish the relationships that I have made at Oak Hill with the players, students, parents and coaches, faculty and staff,” Craven said. “I thank God for having led my path through Oak Hill Academy. It has been a privilege to be a part of the Oak Hill family.”

Oak Hill is currently taking applications for Craven’s replacement.
