Columbus police seek shoplifting suspects

The Columbus Police Department is asking for assistance identifying four suspects that committed felony shoplifting at the Columbus Dick's Sporting Goods store on May 20.

CPD says more than $1,500 of merchandise was taken when the group placed six different Yeti brand items in large shopping bags from another store and walked out the front door.

Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said the group knew what they were after before they came into the store.

"They took high-end coolers and bags that were worth up to $300 each. We believe someone knows who they are and ask them to contact Crimestoppers," he said.

The four persons were in and out of the store in less than six minutes. Four Yeti coolers and two Yeti bags were taken in the incident.

"The evidence is pretty clear," Shelton said. "They came in with empty bags and then left with six items in bags from another store without paying for the items. We only need to know who they are."
