Clay County man gets 40 years for burglary

A Cedar Bluff man was sentenced to 40 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections on two counts of burglary of a dwelling during this week’s Clay County Circuit Court term.
Kellum, 37, was on the docket for burglary of a dwelling and grand larceny. According to court documents, Kellum stole a Franchi 12-gauge shotgun, a Playstation 3, a STIHL chainsaw and other items which totaled more than $1,000.
Kellum originally pleaded not guilty to the charges during a previous term, but changed his plea to guilty this week. He received two 25-year sentences, with five years suspended from each sentence, and five years of post release supervision.
