Clay County voters will have another chance to meet and hear from candidates in the Aug. 6 primaries during a forum Tuesday night at West Point City Hall.

From 6:30-8 p.m., the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and Zeta Phi Beta sorority will host the candidates. So far, all the incumbent supervisors have said they will be there. Organizers still are waiting to hear from some incumbents and challengers for other offices.

The groups also are reaching out to the community to submit questions that can be asked of the candidates during the session, according to materials given to candidates.

In the Aug. 6 primaries, voters will pick Democratic and Republican party nominees for state, regional and local offices. In Clay County, all local candidates are running as Democrats except for one Libertarian who will be on the November ballot.

The Republican Party has several widely contested statewide and regional races, including governor, attorney general and transportation commissioner.
