The West Point High fishing team duo of Mollie Brown and Lidia Portera finished 35th out of 313 teams, just short of making the top 31 that advanced to the world finals of the  2019 Student Angler Federation High School Fishing National Championship at Pickwick Lake. The duo hauled in eight pounds, 15 ounces with three fish Friday, leaving them just a few ounces short of making the finalists. Teams from across the United States and Canada competed in the four-day event which ended Saturday. In addition to the West Point duo, eight other teams from Saltillo, Starkville, Smithville and other parts of Mississippi competed. Brown, left, and Portera show off Friday's three-fish limit.
