Rev. Eddie Longstreet began as a fill-in preacher at St. Paul M.B. Church after the death of Pastor Robert Peoples in 1988. He was voted as permanent pastor in March of 1989.

"I filled in one Sunday in 1988, and I'm still here," Longstreet said. "I never expected my time at St. Paul to last this long. Sometimes preachers don't stay with one church for more then a few months. I love the church, the people in my congregation, and Christ for allowing me to continue to serve Him and this community."

His congregation is holding an anniversary celebration for the 32 years Longstreet has been the pastor of St. Paul on Saturday, May 15 from noon to 2 p.m. It will be a drive-thru for those who do not want to leave their vehicles due to Covid. Those who wish to be part of the celebration are encouraged to decorate their cars with balloons, ribbons, streamers and signs of congratulation. Gifts. words of love and appreciation are all welcome.
