WPPD seeks armed robbery suspect

A gun-wielding bandit fired three shots and made off with $2,000 from a West Point internet cafe on Sunday night and police need the public's help finding the suspect.

According to a West Point Police press release, a man wearing a face mask that only revealed his eyes and mouth entered the Internet cafe on Highway 50 Sunday, fired three shots into the ceiling and demanded money. The clerk ran from the building and the intruder took the cash, left the business and ran north on Old White Road by the cafe.

He got into a car, but witnesses could not provide a description, according to the police press release.

Police say in addition to the mask, the black male was wearing a black Adidas hoodie with the logo on the front left side, stripes on both sleeves and dark-colored jeans.
