Fundraising efforts for the Black Prairie Blues Museum may be on hold because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but that hasn’t stopped the planning.
Project manager Deborah Mansfield is not discouraged and is anxious to get the museum open for fundraising events as soon as it is safe.
“We are hoping in September we’ll be able to start something there again and hold some educational events and music events,” Mansfield said. “We have some fun things planned to raise money.”
Mansfield said about $750,000 needs to be raised to get the project off the ground, but the museum can still be used for the events while they are still working on the design and fundraising.
