The Clay County Cattlemen’s Association will host a Ribeye Steak Sandwich Sale Scholarship Fundraiser from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Save-a-Lot parking lot.

Ribeye steak sandwiches and a bag of chips will be for sale for $8.

Clay County Cattlemen’s Association board member John Elliot said all the money raised during the fundraiser will go toward scholarships for children of association members and Clay County 4-H members.

Elliot said the fundraiser has taken place for at least 10 years and it has been successful in the past.

“This year we gave six $500 scholarships,” Elliot said.

Elliot said the fundraiser was organized by and the food would be prepared all by Clay County Cattlemen’s Association members.

Association member Debbie Hinshaw said the sandwiches would cooked and handmade at the Save-a-Lot parking lot during the fundraiser, and they have never run out of food in the past.

“If it looks like we are getting close to running out, we will go to the store to get more meat to cook,” Hinshaw said. “There’s no risk of us running out of food.”
