Christmas Open House at WPCCAS a success

The West Point Clay County Animal Shelter held its annual Christmas Open House, Saturday. It was a day for the community to come by, see the animals who are in need of adoptive homes, enjoy some food and see what the shelter is all about.
"We had three dogs adopted Saturday," Melanie Elmore, of the WPCCAS, said. "We had approximately 70 people come to see the dogs and cats, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Any day that animals are adopted is a successful day."
The shelter did not want to cancel Christmas Open House, but they asked everyone to please wear facial coverings, they served food outside, encouraging social distancing and they only allowed family members to see Santa at a time.
