During Tuesday's West Point Board of Selectmen meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, the board will speak on the minutes the Clay County Board of Supervisors’ resolution authorizing and approving the Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District to assist West Point in repairing the bridge on Plaza Drive.

Chief Administrative Officer Randy Jones said all but two of the bridge's support pylons are unsafe and can't support any significant weight, and the bridge was closed so the pylons can be replaces.

During the meeting, there will also be a public hearing to set the millage rate for the 2018 fiscal year, and a public hearing for the recommendation by the West Point Planning Commission to rezone land on the southwest corner of Highway 50 West and South Old White Road to construct a 52-unit condominium complex.

The board will consider approval of a worksite agreement with East Mississippi Community College Counseling to Career program, and vote to approve the final payment of $5,379 to Bigbee Valley Civil LLC for the Dunlap sewer project.

The board will also vote to approve West Point Clay County Emergency Management Agency to apply for Emergency Management Performance Grant funds for 2018, and vote to authorize Mayor Robbie Robinson to sign the Emergency Management Performance Grant requesting state funds to West Point Clay County EMA
