The year 2020 is swiftly drawing to a close and all of the county program directors have been bringing their monthly reports to present to the Clay County Board of Supervisors.
The Grinch has been spotted all over town in the past week. He has heard that the West Point Police Department will be giving away toys Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. until all the toys are gone.
This will be a drive by event. Please wear a mask.
Dugan Memorial Home invited the community to give the gift of love, to the residents of Dugan Memorial Home this year.
"The idea was with COVID-19, it has been a hard year on our residents," Carrie Whitlow,
Mayor Robbie Robinson asked for Jeff Atwell, electrical engineer from Starkville, to come forward and address the board on the next step for the South West Point Substation Project.
Rainwater from the half mile ditch between Old Tibbee Road and Church Hill Road has been a problem with the rain water going to the Waste Water Treatment Facility. This water is not supposed to be funneled into the facility and cleaning out the ditch will remedy the issue.
The Clay County Board of Supervisors began its meeting with the resolution from the City of West Point requesting assistance with a request for the Tombigbee River Water Management District.
The Board of Supervisors are the only entity who can request help from the TRWM.
Many people travel to other towns in the area to admire the Christmas lights and decorations. Neighborhoods in Woodland draw people from many counties to come to their small town, so they can share in the Christmas spirit.
