Several bar and nightclub owners came to the meeting of the Clay County Board of Supervisors to discuss the impact the county curfew is having on their businesses. With the curfew at 10 p.m. the businesses must be empty by 9:30 p.m. to allow for cleaning and closing of the establishments.

The Mission is offering an emergency warm place to sleep for those who are homeless or whose homes don't have heat. Below freezing temperatures together with an ice storm can be deadly for those who don't have a home, or whose homes do not have adequate heating.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced a few major highway closures due to icy conditions.
In Clay County, these highways are closed:
- MS 47 between MS 50 and Brand-Una Rd
- MS 46 between MS 50 and CR 100
From Highway 45, downtown, on the walkway and as far as the eye could see, West Point was a frozen wonderland Monday and Tuesday.
